This timepiece is from the Japanese Seasons collection – designs inspired by the twenty four ‘Sekki’ or seasons in Japan; since ancient times these changes in the weather and nature have been incorporated into Japanese daily life. The dial is inspired by acrisp bright moonlit night – “tsukiyo” – after a warm autumnal day; the night is quiet except for the last of the chirping crickets as the last of the summer ebbs away. ‘The Nature of Time’ theme features prominently in Grand Seiko watch designs – a Japanese spirituality where each moment is a unique expression unveiled through light and shadow. The watchmakers’ pride in their surroundings is represented from engineering watch movements which emulate the smooth motion of time passing, to creating dials reflecting the beauty of Japanese nature. This model is powered by the 9S85 Mechanical movement, sophisticated watchmaking innovation through the precision controlling mainspring, the hairspring, and the escapement.
